Common Uses: Doxacard belongs to a class of medications called alpha blockers. The active ingredient doxazosin can relax the muscles in the prostate to treat difficult or painful urination as well as urinary frequency and urgency. It can also help relax the veins and arteries to allow for smoother blood flow in the body. The tablets can be used alone or with other medication to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) and hypertension. Some people may also use the medication to help the body pass kidney stones.
